Within a year of starting stand up comedy Matt was nominated as Comedian of the Year in England’s biggest comedy festival, the Leicester Comedy Festival, as well as being a finalist in various major comedy competitions such as New Act of the Year 2007, and Edinburgh's Laugh Off 2008. He's recently finished performing around the country to huge crowds as Mock The Week/Live at the Apollo regular Stewart Francis' support act - to critical and audience acclaim. At the Edinburgh Festival he appeared as part of the illustrious 'AAA Stand Up ' at The Pleasance Courtyard. He has also performed his own solo show at Brighton, Bath and London Festivals.
Matt is in demand as a TV studio warm up artist, and has regularly been warming up audiences on TV shows for ITV and Channel 4. He has written on TV shows for the like of Wallace and Gromit and Dom Joly, and makes his own documentary films which have appeared on BBC1, BBC3, Channel 4 and More4.
In 2010 Matt won the TV Collective Award for 'Best Talent', and was nominated for the BAFTA 'Breakthrough Talent' Award.
